Changes

When Ash and I started this blog nearly seven months ago, things were so much different than they are now. I was employed, although I had a quite a bit of spare time, and Ash and I weren’t quite sure how Sin City Sex Blog was going to evolve.

The climate changed less than two months later. I was all of a sudden unemployed and had a lot of free time on my hands. Ash and I made some friends via Twitter that gave us lots of ideas for the blog, and I was happy to be writing something fun.

Here's some sexy pics of Megan Fox. Why you ask? Because this is a sex blog and that's what we do!

Now, seven months into it – with a fairly regular blogging schedule, calendar of events and friends who somewhat expect to see us – things will be changing again.

I have been offered a full-time position – a 9-5 type job. I can’t really say how this is going to change things. Honestly, I’m hoping that it won’t change too much. But I feel it would be naïve to say that nothing is going to change.

Ash and I have grown to really love this blog. It has been a great and fun outlet for me to write our funny and wild stories from our strip club experiences. It has allowed us to be a part of things that are truly unique to Las Vegas, and it has introduced us to some amazing people, some of which happen to be porn stars.

I am not the biggest fan of Megan Fox, but she looks damn good in these pics. I can't deny it.

This is definitely not a good-bye letter or an indefinite sabbatical notice. It’s just a post to say that things might be a little different effective immediately. Maybe we won’t post as much. Or maybe we’ll start posting more about our sex lives or dirty stories to each other.

The one good thing is that I will finally be making some money, so I’m thinking Ash and I may have a little larger budget to be visiting more strip clubs more often, so I’m sure we’ll have some good stories to share!

I am definitely excited for this next chapter in Ash and my life. I feel extremely lucky to be given the opportunity which lies in front of me. I definitely have my work cut out for me, but I think it will be a really great learning and growing experience.

Proud to be a Rick’s Frequenter

The other day I was enjoying my little guilty pleasure. Before Ash woke up one morning, I got my cup of coffee, sat on the couch and turned on my TiVo to watch the most recent episode of The Hills. I know, gawk, gasp, judge now. I’m giving you permission because I am fully aware of how shameful it is. But whatever. I don’t subject anyone else to my guilty pleasure, and usually I don’t talk about it to anyone. That is until now.

The episode that aired last Tuesday nigaht (November 24th) Kristin and her friend Staci decided to take a girls trip and headed to Vegas. Unfortunately, Kristin couldn’t stand to be away from her LA drama, so she called her boy toy Justin to come play with her. The three of them decided to go to Rick’s Cabaret, a Las Vegas strip club. They were all drinking. The girls were getting lap dances. Everyone looked like they were having a good time.

Watching the episode made me really want to go to a strip club. Ash and I used to be almost-weekly frequenters of strip clubs, and the latest one was Rick’s. We had a few girls there that always treated us right and showed us a good time. But for the past few months, the only strip club we have visited has been The Velvet Lion. I’m not complaining. We always have a good time there. But it’s different. When we go to the Porn Star Tweet Intimate Encounters at The Velvet Lion, its definitely for fun, but we also go for the blog. We go to talk to porn stars. It’s not really to start a sexy party or have a good night just the two of us.

But when we go to a strip club just the two of us, it’s to get a little turned on and get the sexy party started. We drink, often times too much. A lot of times, we have great conversation together (I know that sounds weird, but it’s actually really true.) So, Ash and I decided it was time for just the two of us to get back to the strip club.

When we got to Rick’s I immediately asked if Brianna was still working for the club. She was our favorite there. She always treated us so well. She was a lot of fun to bullshit with before the dances commenced. She introduced us to Blueberry Stoli on the rocks with a cherry – one of the best strip club drinks ever – and she was a great dancer for both Ash and me.

Before Brianna got to us, another dancer who used to dance for us came and sat down. She totally remembered us – our names and everything. It was kind of crazy. We spent a considerable amount of time – and money – at this club, so being recognized by face wouldn’t have surprised me much, but being recognized by name, that’s pretty impressive. Ironically, I don’t know this particular girl’s name, but she has also given us some good dances, so after chatting and catching up for a few songs, she danced for us. First for me; then for Ash.

After she left, Brianna came over. We drank with her for quite a while, again just shooting the shit and catching up. She had asked us where we have been. I told her we just couldn’t afford it, but after watching The Hills episode, I decided it was time to get back to the club. Brianna knew about The Hills episode and about Kristin coming to the club. But Brianna told us that apparently Kristin didn’t have as good a time as she appeared to have on the show. Brianna told us that later that week Kristin went on The George Lopez show and bashed the club, the stripper and her experience. It sounded pretty bad.

Eventually Brianna danced for me. Just as good as I remembered. The next dance, she called over her friend Nutmeg, who danced for me while Brianna danced for Ash.

Ash and I went home and continued the sexy party there. It was definitely a good time! But after the festivities of the night, I decided to google Kristin Cavallari on George Lopez, and Brianna was right. She did bash her experience quite a bit:

Kristin basically called Rick’s a dump, but it’s actually a really nice club. It’s one of the nicest clubs we’ve ever been to, and we have visited a lot of clubs in Vegas. She also said that the dancer was not attractive. I don’t know who danced for her, but Brianna knew and said she was one of the prettiest girls in the club, and Rick’s has some really attractive girls. And in terms of getting molested in a strip club I doubt that happened. But, fyi, you’re a girl in a strip club – it’s kind of what goes on there. I don’t get it, especially the difference between how she looks on her show to what she says on George Lopez’s show. Kind of makes me think that maybe she did enjoy it, she was just embarrassed to say that on national television. But even if you are embarrassed, what did the girls or Rick’s in general do to make you trash talk that badly.

But whatever. To each his own. All I can say is I’m pretty proud that I can go to a strip club with my boyfriend and have a great time, and come home and have great great sex. Nothing to be embarrassed about here.

Review of Puscifer at the Palms

I just want to start off by saying I am a giant Maynard fan boy. Everything Maynard has been apart of I have thoroughly enjoyed. EVERYTHING from Tool to Merkin Wine, from A Perfect Circle to skits about Ronnie Dobs. That is everything until Friday nights Puscifer concert.

I went to Pusicifers first concert back on February 13, 09, and for it being their first show It seemed very well rehearsed as if it was performed hundreds of times live before. There were lots of jokes and great live performances of Puscifer’s music. This time around, however, was quite the opposite.

Puscifer opener Uncle Scratch’s Gospel Revival

Uncle Scratch’s Gospel Revival opened up with a very funny performance. If you like laughing at the absurdities of down south style Christianity, or just Christianity in general, you would have loved their set. They did almost the exact same show of kicking over a makeshift drum set and preaching/singing out of megaphone helmets as back in February, and it was hysterical.

After denouncing Britney Spears and Wal-Mart and singing about banging sinners, Major Douche, one of Maynard’s may alter egos, appeared on the screen. Douche told everyone to sit back and enjoy, and “NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY FUCK FACE!” I was excited to see another great Maynard production.

But what followed was nearly an entire show of country music covers of Puscifer songs. Maynard and band took to the stage and preformed all of the previously released Puscifer songs and played them in the style of Garth Brooks and Hee Haw. It was as if Maynard took the joke from the song “Country Boner,” which is halarious in a 4 minute song, and tried to stretch the same joke into 60 minutes. In between most songs there were video clips of another alter ego of Maynard’s, named Billy Dean, going through all sorts of hillbilly drama with his wife. It was funny, at first, but Lilly, my friends and I grew tired of it. What really wasn’t funny was spending 50 bucks a ticket and 10 bucks a drink to watch an hour of a dead horse of a joke being beaten to death.

After burning through most of Puscifer’s songs in this country boner-esk style the band disappeared from the stage and returned in nicer clothes. Maynard drank from a bottle of his own wine set out on display and then began to sing to a camera mounted behind a tv displaying his face though a fish eye lens. Finally Puscifer started to play in a more familiar style, but it was too late. Puscifer had already played though all of their songs their fans knew. By now Lilly, my friends and I had all been burnt out. No amount of a coolness and style from a performance to follow would help. The only thing left for them to play was “the Mission” and unreleased songs that are not due out until November 10th. Once they played through these 4 or so songs that no one knew, the show ended. This was probably the first concert that I have ever been to that did not have an encore.

In a really funny/ironic sort of way, I think Maynard has kinda pulled a Ronnie Dobbs. In the Mr. Show skit that spawned Puscifer, Dobbs becomes famous for getting arrested, but eventually becomes so famous he forgets his fans and stops getting arrested. Everything Maynard has done has been struck with such success that I think he sort of forgot what has gotten Puscifer where it is. Puscifer is good music with the right amount humor poured on. The concert we saw, however, was neither. Maynard, if you ever do read this, keep the theatrics and performance, but keep the good music too.

But what do I know about what Puscifer is or isn’t about. Puscifer isn’t my creative outlet. It’s just an eclectic rock band I payed near 200$ to see preform a Hee Haw rip off.

Will.I.Am at Rain

Last Friday night, we were invited to Rain with some friends who had VIP tickets. We were told Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas was going to be there, so of course we wanted to go.

Ash and I got all dressed up and headed to the club, which is inside The Palms. Although we had VIP tickets, we were shoed into a line that was not moving. Seriously, this line was in a constant stand still, which made no sense to us. Why have VIP tickets if you are not treated like a very important person. Although we were frustrated, standing in this line gave us ample time to people watch. As always in the club environment, there were some interesting people and even more interesting outfits – with lots of “come fuck me clothes.”

The hostess of the club was beautiful. Very long and lean. Blonde. Very pretty. Unfortunately, she was a bitch. Extremely pretenous. She thought she was better than every other person in the place. She wouldn’t even acknowledge a man in front of us when he was trying to figure out where he was supposed to be. I am not impressed with people like this. It’s like, give me a fucking break.

Once we got in the club, our moods improved. The club was very nice. I believe it was three stories. The bottom floor was the dance floor. The second and third floors wrapped around the back of the parimeter of the club and held cabanas and skyboxes. We planted ourselves on one of these levels. It was pretty cool to look down over everyone and watch everyone dance.

At about 1am Will.I.Am showed up and started DJ-ing. To be quite honest, Ash and I weren’t the biggest fans of his MC style. He definitely had some skills – mixing two songs at once and scratching – but his music choice left a lot to be desired. I think Ash and I recognized about 20 seconds of the hour we listened to him. I don’t know about you, but when I’m at a club I want something I know – something that’s easy to grind my ass to. Unfortunately, Will.I.Am did not provide that opportunity.

That being said, to be watching, drinking and kind of dancing to a Will.I.Am was a pretty cool experience.

Rain’s occupancy is 1800. Reservations are accepted but are based on availability. Private rooms are available at $1000 per night. Cabanas are $750 per night, and water booths are $300 per night. General tables prices are depenent on the number of people, and there are bottle minimums. Paul Oakenfold is the resident DJ at the club.

Let us know about your experience if you have been or decide to go! If you decide to go bring lots of money or lots of girls – thats the only way you’ll get in with your diginty and without waiting half the night in a line.

Miley Cyrus dancin’ like a slut

Apparently the 16 year-old Miley Cyrus was dancing like a dirty girl at a show she put on here recently in Las Vegas at the Thomas & Mac.
