Sapphires Las Vegas
Posted by Lilith on January 5, 2010
Over the holidays Ash and I took some time off to hang out together and just relax. Several nights were spent out on the town – trying new places and visiting old places. We kept ourselves properly wined, dined and entertained over the holidays. Except for the night we visited Sapphires.
We have heard and read so many great reviews about Sapphires, and we were pumped to find somewhere new (for us) and classy to frequent. Sadly, Sapphires will not be that place.
I will be the first to admit, the place is beautiful. It just looks rich. As soon as you open the doors, you’re greeted with what looked like marble floors, mahogany wood and beautiful people. Even the bouncers, doormen and hostesses were attractive making our expectations for the dancers very high.
The first five minutes were going great. There was no cover for locals, so we were sure we were going to be hooked. That was, however, until we got to the bar. Ash and I had just come from Karaoke XXX at Brando’s Bar and Grill where we ordered a vodka tonic and screw driver for 8 bucks. Now I’m not an idiot. I realize Brando’s and Sapphires are two entirely different places, on entirely different levels, with entirely different price points. But when the bartender told Ash each drink would be $14.50 a piece, we were immediately turned off. We couldn’t get drinks, get lap dances and get home for a reasonable price. We could do one of the three, but honestly, these three things, for Ash and I, go hand in hand.
Ash and I are not cheap. We like to go out and spend money in order to have a good time. We often get multiple lap dances from multiple girls. We often get too drunk to comfortably or safely drive home, and we often take a taxi home, where we continue the sexy party. This would not have been the case at Sapphires.
Now I will not deny the fact that Sapphires is a nice club. At $15 per cocktail, I assume the place has a lot of money to make it nice. But seriously, Ash and I did not tour the place. We don’t know the rhythm or what to expect. All we know is that the club looks nice and that the drinks are fucking expensive.
Unless we stumble across loads of money, I don’t think we will be stumbling into Sapphires again. People say that the ladies are exceptional at Sapphires, but I think other clubs that offer local drink discounts or discounts in general have some exceptional looking and dancing ladies too.
For us, Sapphires is not a place wee will frequent. It might be a place we never go back to, and I’m sure they don’t care. But if you’re in the mood to needlessly spend some money, Sapphires may be the place for you. Otherwise, you can get the same experience at Rick’s or the Velvet Lion for far less.
