A few weekends ago, Ash and I were looking for something to do. Per usual the criteria for the night: fun and sexy.
We heard that the old Velvet Lion had finally transformed into its new club, Secret Boutique and Cabaret, and was now open. We had to go experience the rumored: newest “alternative lifestyle” hotspot.
We arrived to a packed house. I am serious. Ash and I have been to The Velvet Lion enough times to know that it was never as packed as Secret was. Self park was completely full, leaving valet as the only option, and even then, there were at least half a dozen cars in front of ours. Luckily, they were organized and immediately came to us, gave us our valet ticket and let us in the club.
It was crazy … but crazy fun. Alternative lifestyle establishments are some of my favorite places in Vegas. Everyone is so diverse. Everyone is fucking fabulous, and everyone is there to have a good time. In fact, I can almost guarantee that the massive amounts of people there had the same criteria for their night as we did.
Male and female dancers shared the stage for an erotic experience for both men and women, straights and gays. And although the experience was similar to a straight strip club or club in general, there was a very prominent difference – and that is that Ash was the center of attention. Usually when we go to a strip club, the dancers (if they’re smart) act far more interested in me than they do Ash. But at Secret, I could have been invisible. I can’t blame the male entertainers and patrons. Ash is ultra handsome. And for me, it was just interesting to experience the other side of the spectrum.
Ash and I made our rounds on the main floor, but come to find out, Secret offers much more than meets the eye. According to its website: “The club is divided into three arenas. One which our guests can revel in music from some of the most electrifying DJ’s in the city, all while dancing the night away or enjoying a private table. A second room that can be used for more intimate conversation while enjoying the company of a special someone, to a third that is set up specifically to play out one’ s most erotic fantasies on a personal level.”
That all sounds very PC for some dirty shit happens is area two and especially area three. I wonder how much those rooms cost …
So if you’re looking for an entertaining alternative lifestyle hotspot, I’d say Secret is your best bet!

The place is a lot of fun, but I don’t know if it is the place you’re looking for. I would say Secret is marketed more for the gay community than the risque community.
If you’re looking for some dirty dances, I would suggest Rick’s or Treasures. However, if you’re looking for a place to get down and dirty with your partner, I would highly suggest the Green Door. Just because it’s a swinger’s club doesn’t mean you have to swing. Ash and I have been twice and both times we had the time of our lives, did exactly what we wanted and never felt like we had to swing to be there.
